CLASSES

Our regulations are designed to be as free as possible whilst still encouraging close racing. To be eligible, the car must comply with one of the following four classes constituting the NZSCRS:

2-LITRE CLASS

a) Engine limited to 2-litre piston engines that are naturally aspirated
b) Must comply with all other general club rules and Schedule SCR.

OPEN CLASS

a) General - For sports racing cars that comply with the Open Class regulations
b) Must comply with all other general club rules and Schedule SCR.
c) Forced induction engine cars are permitted in this class

Historic Class

a) Car must be at least 25 years old and presented in the configuration that it was raced in period
b) Must comply with all other general club rules and Schedule SCR.

We recommend that Historic class cars obtain a Certificate Of Description (COD). For information on the COD process please refer to the MSNZ website.

Formula Racing NZ

On track at the same time as the NZ Sportscars, but competing for their own points, NZ Sportscars welcomes Formula Racing NZ for the 2025/26 season. This class is for Formula Atlantic’s, Toyota FT40 and the Toyota FT50 with cars restricted to the standard specification they ran in in their respective series.

Formula Libre

Although not eligible for Sportscar or Formula Racing NZ Series points, approved Formula Libre cars are welcome to enter our meetings. Please contact us to apply for approval prior to entering an event.
